I cannot connect with SSL
Please check if you’ve changed the server to ssl.hitnews.eu and if you’ve changed the port from 119 to 563 or 995.
Also, please check if you have enabled ssl in your reader.

I get error "502 - access denied to your node"
This error means you’re using a wrong username or password.
Please enter your username and password by hand. Copy / paste often fails.

I get error "400 - Your per-user connection limit reached"
Check your serversettings to see if ’reset connection time-out’ or the ’time-out’ setting is at least 120 seconds.

I get error "10060 - connection timed out"
This means that the connection to our servers has failed. Please contact our support team at: support@support.hitnews.eu and email your ip-address.

I have fluctuating download speeds
Are you downloading at port 119? Then please try SSL.
You can use ssl by changing your serversettings:
If you still have fluctuating download speeds then please try to restart your modem / router (unplug).

I’ve lost my username or password
No problem. You can have your username and password emailed to you at any time. Just go to: http://member.hitnews.eu/login.php and enter your username or email address. Your username and password will be emailed to you instantly.

What is the advantage of SSL and multiple connections ?
By using SSL all traffic is encrypted between our servers and your computer.
Therefore all traffic is unreadable for any third parties.
Using SSL and multiple connections often means getting a higher downloadspeed and a more stable downloadspeed, especially during evening hours and weekends.
